Ingredients

  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Fold in chopped apples and pecans.
  9. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cake cool before adding caramel glaze.
